Advocates for Recovery through Medicine (ARM) IS A NATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF ADVOCATES for the fair treatment of patients who utilize Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) in their recovery from opiate addiction. The most common forms of MAT are the medications methadone and buprenorphine (Subutex and Suboxone). Being a person with opiate addiction isn’t easy, and being a MAT patient is even harder because of the myths and prejudice that surround this form of treatment.

What we do....

Advocates for Recovery through Medicine(ARM) help reduce stigma associated with the disease and treatment of opiate addiction, serve as patient advisory advocates within our clinic system, assist other patients with their treatment, and serve as an intermediaries between the clinic and patient.

We also help educate the general public about these medications and support education to help reduce overdoses and complications from people trying to abuse these medications. Education is the key!

Why This Matters....

Addiction is a disease that can affect anyone at any time. Patients that are receiving adequate medication assisted treatment are known to stop using altogether; lower risky behaviors, and X. It is a cheap, effective tool in battling the disease of addiction and can help benefit everyone.
